Fishing Report 20th June 2022

Notes

A very warm week of scorching daytime temperatures of up to 31 degrees, coupled with overnight lows that were still into double figures has raised the lake temperature considerably.
Despite the conditions plenty of fish have still been on the move and are happy to take insects from the surface. Buzzers and damsels continue to hatch in large quantities and fishing with imitative patterns have had the best results. Long leaders with buzzers, damsels, crunchers and Diawl Bachs have worked well with a slow figure of eight retrieve. Early morning and evenings have proven to be the best part of the day with anglers finding it more difficult during the hottest parts of the day.
With the water temperatures rising and, in the interest of the welfare of the fish, catch and release has now ceased. Please keep up to date on the fishery either via our website or by calling the store on 0118 930 3860.
