Another steady week at the fishery with intermediate lines producing the most fish overall. Ben Beckwith had some fantastic sport earlier this week fishing with two size 12 diawl bachs casting at rising fish – great to see at this time of year! The water level is still high but clear. Late afternoon fishing until … Continue reading Fishing Report 22nd November »

It’s been a steady week here at the fishery. The water level is high but it remains gin clear. Lures fished on intermediate lines with a fast retrieve have been working well. Hobby Lake is packed with hard fighting fish and is available for private bookings. Find out more information.

It’s been another good week for fishing – the lakes have plenty of gin clear water, it’s very mild for this time of year and lures, particularly damsels are doing well. A private party fishing Hobby hooked into 15 fish and we had a large stocking of tigers and browns go in yesterday. Just a … Continue reading Fishing Report 2nd November »

A change in weather saw a very productive week for the fishery with plenty of fish caught. Haywards is nice and full with gin clear water. Black lures on sinking lines are doing well and there’s no need to cast great distances with fish taking close in on the drop off. The City Flickers hosted … Continue reading Fishing Report 24th October »

With sun and high temperatures, it’s been a quiet week at the fishery with the best of the sport in the evening. Plenty of damsels and buzzers are still hatching off and the water levels are holding on well despite the lack of rain. The lake temperatures have continued to climb and we are monitoring … Continue reading Fishing Report 26th June »

The good weather continues and the temperatures have certainly been creeping up to something more like you would expect for this time of year. The hatches are in full swing and the mayfly are continuing to build up momentum but are not close to full on just yet. The brighter sunny days will delay the … Continue reading Fishing Report 15th May »

It’s been a week of change that’s for sure, not just in the weather but also in the fly activity! Warm weather with a mix of rain and some heavy thunder and lightning at times seems to have flicked a switch with many of the aquatic inhabitants of the lake and hatches have suddenly come … Continue reading Fishing Report 12th May »

The good weather was back last week and the fly hatches continued to increase all over the fishery! Buzzers and olives hatched through the day and rising fish could be seen everywhere with fish really locked on to the abundance of insects on offer. Keeping your flies in the top 2-4 feet of fishing subsurface … Continue reading Fishing Report 3rd May »

A week that once again started to feel a bit more like spring! Warmer days and relatively calm conditions at times have seen the lake bubbling. Huge hatches of buzzers and olives have had the trout feeding in overdrive and some great bags coming because of it. Keeping your flies in the top couple of … Continue reading Fishing Report 24th April »

Another mixed week of weather last week with highs well into the mid-teens, beautiful sunshine and huge buzzer hatches mixed with heavy rain, winds and frosts. However, this didn’t put many anglers off. Naturals continued to be the best line of attack. Buzzers, diawl bachs, crunchers and PTN took most of the catches, fished … Continue reading Fishing Report 11th April »
