All auction winners enjoyed their day, fishing both Hobby Lake and Haywards. We’ve had another fresh stocking this week and lure patterns are proving most effective right now! Don’t forget … Continue reading Fishing Report 13/11/25 »

Fishing Report 15/10/25

Notes

We’ve had another great week here at the fishery with most, if not all, anglers enjoying some sport. Fish still remain high up in the water so floating lines are the order of the day. Flies including hoppers, daddies, damsels, nymphs and hares ears are all producing some good results however, the key at the … Continue reading Fishing Report 15/10/25 »

Fishing Report 8/10/25

Notes

Since reopening last weekend, autumn fishing has really come alive at the fishery, with plenty of topwater action. Hoppers and dry flies have been particularly effective, while subsurface tactics using hot head damsels have also produced great results.

Fishing Report 29th May

Notes

Haywards is fishing well with hoppers producing good results. Ermine Moths have landed leaving a spooky blanket across the fishery and the trout are going wild for the caterpillars dropping from the trees, so anything you can offer to match the hatch is working well. Your chance to win a YETI Tundra 45 in harvest … Continue reading Fishing Report 29th May »

It’s been a busy few weeks here at the fishery! With near-perfect conditions, anglers have been bagging up with plenty of fish taken on dries. ‘Duffers Fortnight’ has arrived and we were pleased to welcome some of our friends from Farlows in London, along with their children to the fishery recently. All enjoyed a great … Continue reading Fishing Report 14th May »

Spring has well and truly sprung here at the fishery! The daffodils are out, the days are getting warmer and the fish are feeding. Anglers have been catching some good numbers of fish in the top three feet swinging buzzers or on the indicator. The shop is packed with new season collections from Simms, Patagonia and … Continue reading Fishing Report 21st March »

Fishing Report 30th January

Notes

We’ve had a good week here at the fishery with colder conditions offering some excellent sport. Black and green lures with mixed retrieves have been successful but don’t be afraid to try fishing higher up in the water column or even on the surface. Now is a great time to check and clean your kit … Continue reading Fishing Report 30th January »
