Fishing Report 16th May 2022

Notes

It was another great week for hatching insects with the mayfly starting to come on a bit stronger. A few more daddies and our first damsels of the year have started to show themselves around the lake edges too, and great clouds of buzzers continue to hatch. Despite the bright conditions at times, fish have been feeding high in the water.Nymphs and dries have done well with buzzer patterns under and indicator doing the job for regular angler Grant Beaumont who took half a dozen to this method in a short session in tough conditions.Mornings, before the sun gets too high, and evenings have seen plenty of action, often with a slight lull during the middle of the day. With the new gates now working a treat, don’t forget that you can fish on until dusk as long as you have purchased a ticket from the shop before 5.30pm. As you leave, the gates will automatically let you out so you can really get the best out of the evening action.
