Fishing Report 9th May 2022

Notes

Last week was another beautiful one for the weather with the early part of the week seeing warm temperatures and lovely overcast conditions. Lots of flies were hatching all over the lake with a mixture of buzzers, olives, the odd very early daddy longlegs, with a couple of mayflies thrown in for good measure. Nymphs and dry fly have remained the best methods of attack for anglers with the natural approach being rewarded with some great bags of pristine hard-fighting fish. As the week progressed, high temperatures and lots of sun didn’t put the fish off but did push them down a little during the brightest parts of the day. Early mornings and evenings have the best of the activity with some real lumps sipping down insects.
Saturday saw us host a private club booking for the London-based City Flickers who had a fantastic day with some of their new members catching their very first trout on fly. Well done to all that took part!
Our electric gates have now been fitted which means that anglers will be able to fish on after the shop has closed and leave the car park via the automatic opening gate. Please make sure that if you want to take advantage of the evening tickets that you have them purchased from the store before 5.30pm.
