Fishing Report 28th February 2022

Notes

What a difference a week makes! Last week was a complete contrast to the weather of the previous week, with some stunning spring conditions at times. Plenty of buzzers were hatching and we saw lots of surface activity which is always encouraging to see.

It was a busy week at the fishery with plenty of anglers coming to visit after a long week of keeping safe from the storms at home. Intermediate lines were certainly the lines of choice, matched up with mini lures like blobs, Cat’s Whiskers, Vivas and snakes. Many 10+ fish bags were recorded, mostly for the anglers fishing those mini lures with steady retrieves.

Several anglers landed bags of up to 15 fish with this method, but they all covered plenty of water in doing so. The anglers that kept on the move had the best results and regular, Colin Jordan, landed yet another double to add to his tally weighing in at 10lb 2oz.

A good number of fish in the 4-9lb bracket were also taken with some even falling to dry fly. Don’t forget to fill in a Trout Masters form in store if you are lucky enough land a special fish when visiting.

Long story short: The fishing is on fire! 🔥
