Fishing Report 7th March 2022

Notes

Last week was another busy one at the fishery with plenty of new faces in and around the lake which is always good to see. A few youngsters were getting in on the action too, not just on Kingfisher Pond but also on Haywards Farm Lake itself.
Successful tactics have been similar to those of recent weeks, with intermediates and mini lures such as blobs and Cat’s Whiskers doing a lot of damage. There has certainly been a lot more fly activity and lots of buzzers have been hatching off throughout the day. The calmer days have seen plenty of fish rising all over the lake. Some anglers took advantage of these conditions and have landed some cracking fish on dries. We’re pleased to report that there were plenty of bags of up to 10 fish, with the best fish tipping the scales at just under 10lbs.
We’ve also been working hard on Hobby Lake getting it ready for reopening later in the spring, with new fishing platforms all around the lake to make the fishing more accessible. Anyone interested in booking Hobby Lake for private use with your fishing buddies can now call the tackle shop on 0118 930 3860 for more info.
Tight lines!
