Notes

The good weather was back last week and the fly hatches continued to increase all over the fishery! Buzzers and olives hatched through the day and rising fish could be seen everywhere with fish really locked on to the abundance of insects on offer.

Keeping your flies in the top 2-4 feet of fishing subsurface was key with plenty of fish falling to emergers and dries. Shuttlecocks, bobs bits, foam daddies took their share off the top while just below, lightweight nymphs like diawl bachs, crunches and buzzers scored well.

Jay Bartlett had a couple of great trips taking a fantastic bag of 18 fish before returning with his two young children who got stuck into them also.

The end of the week saw us welcome the Mayfly Project UK back – a great charity that Sportfish supports. If you want to find out more about them, take a look at their Sportfish Spring Spectacular film to hear all about the great work they are doing!
