Fishing Report 4th July 2022

Notes

Another warm week at the fishery but with some cooler night time temperatures and the occasional much needed shower, the lake temps actually dropped this week. Those that ventured out found fish still feeding well with plenty of surface activity all over the lake.Dry fly produced well, with the best bag being 8, many of which came late in the day once the sun had started to go down. Floating lines and midge tips have been the tactic of choice, long leaders and slow retrieves being key. Shuttlecock dries and bobs bits have done well on top fished static or with the occasional twitch.Evening fishing and early morning have been the best times of day with anglers taking advantage of the ability to fish on until dusk.We are continuing to monitor the lake and will stay open for as long as possible but catch and release continues to be suspended.
